To the Haut Languedoc (or, get your ticks... on the D66)Submitted by Malc on Wed, 2006-07-05 14:29.
We are now up in the plateau of Haut-Languedoc, enjoying some cooler weather (maybe because we are a bit higher up) and camping beside a beautiful lake. (Yet again Ali, with her remarkable affinity for members of the insect kingdom, managed to acquire a tick prior to departure: this one much smaller. The doctor in Realmont was disbelieving. He boldly broke it off, without any thought of anaesthetizing it (or her) first, dug out the leftover mouth bits with his scalpel, and said "Voila, c'est fini. Allez-y, faites du velo". In future, we shall forget about doctors and boldly perform tickectomies on each other armed only with a Swiss army knife and nerves of steel). On the way up we saw a little family of European Beavers: one adult and four babies, heading through the long grass down to the river.

Well I'm glad you've seen
Well I'm glad you've seen some Beavers. How reassuring. And so much more charming than ticks.
